Confusion, Clarity, and Quantum Highs: A Summer at the QED-C
Quantum can be a little like putting a puzzle together without the picture on the box. Follow along as the puzzle pieces start to fit together and the image comes into focus for Avimita Chatterjee, a summer intern with our Standards and Performance Benchmarks Project.
Students from top universities around the country present their research. This bi-monthly event is a great place to scout for emerging quantum talent! September's presentations focus on "Advancements in Quantum Algorithms and Their Applications."
Interested in a career in quantum information science and technology (QIST) or learning more about this emerging technology? The QED-C Office Hours program offers students the opportunity to meet one-on-one with current practitioners in QIST. Register today for the September session.
Optical Frequency Combs for Quantum Applications Workshop
October 28-29 | Seattle, WA Invite only - Request an invite to attend
The Enabling Technologies TAC is running a workshop-based study to tackle the challenge of aligning commercially available frequency comb technology with the specific requirements of end-users in the quantum field. Industry leaders and end users will kick off the workshop with presentations that frame the critical role of frequency combs in quantum technologies.
October 29 | Seattle, WA Invite only - Request an invite to attend
Hosted by the Workforce TAC, this workshop focuses on enhancing students’ grasp of industry-relevant quantum concepts to better prepare them for the rapidly advancing field by identifying opportunities to create more accessible and engaging experiential learning programs.
October 29 | Seattle, WA Invite only - Request an invite to attend

DARPA to host meeting with quantum computing companies
September 3, 2024
Following the July announcement of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI), DARPA is hosting a QBI Proposer's Day on Sept. 3, 2024, for quantum computing companies that believe they are on track to develop an industrial-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer in the near term. DARPA will also offer individual, brief sidebar discussions (in person or virtually) with QBI Program Manager Joe Altepeter. Sidebars will be scheduled following the Proposer's Day on September 3 (in-person and virtual) and on September 4 and September 6 (virtual only both days). The Proposer's Day and sidebar discussions are open to U.S. and international quantum computing companies and organizations.
